It’s college application time again (at least for the US). I am thinking a little deeper about it this time around because my niece has just begun her senior high school year and will be working on her applications soon. She has her sights set on studying business.<\/p>\n

Here are a few thoughts that may help the college application mindset.<\/p>\n

    1. Believe that colleges know what they are doing when it comes to admission decisions. The admissions staff are experienced at what they do & they have developed instincts that influence their preferences.<\/li>\n
    2. Use the college application essays as avenues to connect on a human-to-human level. Express your qualities & values in a relatable & interesting manner. Detail the setting & actions to vividly assist the reader’s imagination.<\/li>\n
    3. Seek feedback before submitting your application. Is there enough detail? Is your story compelling? Does it feel authentic?<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      These are pretty simple suggestions. But as in the YCISL belief in “Simple, but not Easy” it will take work to optimize the college application with emotional intelligence, design thinking & creative energy.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
